Tea Time | First Week in The Ville

first week in the ville

first week in the ville

It feels so weird to be typing this post as I haven’t done a tea time in so long. I miss it honestly. It was such an awesome way for me to get out what was on my mind without having something “specific” to talk about… even though what’s on my mind does all revolve around one topic: I moved! A few bloggers have my personal Facebook and have probably seen some of my journey, but exactly one week ago, I made the move to my new home… three and a half hours away from where I previously called home.

You’re probably like, “Girl, why did ya go and do that for?!” Well, I got a job! My dream job, actually. Many of you know that I have been studying to be a special education teacher for about four and half years now and I finally graduated in December! Woohoo! 🎉 I honestly can’t believe that I am actually a college graduate or that I’ve got my first job already. I did not see myself getting a job right out because it is so much harder for December graduates, being that school starts in August here. However, I am so proud of myself and my determination to find what sets my soul on fire. I absolutely love my job already and I think my new school is going to be an amazing home.

As far as “titles”, I am now an ECE Resource Teacher at Portland Elementary School in Louisville, KY! It’s crazy when I actually type it out because I’m still not used to actually having the title of “teacher”. It’s been “MSU student”, “student teacher”, “student”, and so many other titles for so long that I forgot what I was actually doing all that work for. I know my mom is smiling down at me, proud.

As for Louisville, I love it! I’ve always wanted to live in a big town and this job has given me that opportunity. You really don’t realize all that you miss out on living in small towns until you make the jump. There are so many different areas of Louisville, so there is something for everyone. I’ve honestly thought about doing some local restaurant/shop reviews as I’ve already looked into some that I think could be real gems. (Would you guys be interested in this?)

Anyway, I think that’s about it for tonight. I’m going to try my best to get back into blogging regularly, but it may only be once or twice a week for now. I have lots of new products to review and put up that I’ve purchased over the last several months. Let me know if there’s anything specific you want to see reviews on!

Compliments at Work

The title is just an attention getter. Honestly, I just wanted to talk to you guys! I miss having my chit-chats where I just share what’s going on with my life, how I’m feeling, and so on – however, I have been getting a lot of compliments at work lately and I can’t say I’m the least bit bothered by it. I really feel like I’m finally starting to get the hang of all the different things my job does. There’s only one position I haven’t tried and I’m working on getting a chance at that! Once I have that down, I will have learned every single position at my job.

Classes start on August 16th for me so I am trying to get back into my school mode. I’m probably going to start setting up all of my binders and notebooks, organizing my planner, and so on. I also did something really exciting that will happen before classes start… I signed up for Fall Sorority Recruitment! I am beyond nervous yet stoked to finally get to try this out. I have always wanted to give it a go, and even did Spring Recruitment at one point, but the focus of that is to try to get into a specific sorority that you really loved or to go for one that you didn’t get in the fall that you wanted. You don’t really get to try for each sorority like you do in the fall, which is why I am finally doing it! I really can’t wait to meet all of the wonderful women and see how things go. I even had to take off for August 10th through the 14th because all of my co-workers and friends that are in sororities say it’s a 9am-9pm type of event week! Apparently, that means I’ll be busy as all get out and I know I won’t be able to work my normal shifts.

Overall, life has been really wonderful here lately. My boyfriend, Travis, got the O-K to move in with me from my landlord so he is officially living with me and it’s now our apartment. This is sooo exciting for me as well because he was practically here 24/7 anyways and I love the idea of him officially living with me. ❤️

Honestly, I can’t complain. I really hope you all have been doing wonderful as well. Let me know how life if going for you in the comments below.

Until next time! x
